meet Sarah

Sarah Hill lives in Grand Rapids with her three littles—Jovie, Crosby, and Lola. They love walking to the park, dancing around to music videos, and eating snacks together.

Sarah developed a passion for caring for postpartum parents shortly after she had her first baby and her best friends had theirs. She says, “It was such a tender, intimate, vulnerable time and the support I had in my life made an enormous difference.” Sarah’s ultimate goal is to provide a safe, peaceful, and calming environment to parents as they navigate the challenges that can come with feeding their baby. She is committed to working around cost barriers and remaining accessible and approachable to all types of families. Every family deserves the right amount of emotional support, education, and problem-solving to help reach their individual goals with feeding.

Sarah is also West Michigan Midwifery’s administrative assistant. They are our favorite team of homebirth midwives in the area (8 of the babies born to our Sprout and Blossom team were born with WMM midwives!).

We are so glad Sarah is part of the Sprout and Blossom team!

Sarah’s Lactation Journey

“I had very different experiences feeding my three babies. My oldest, Jovie, was never able to fully latch. I ended up exclusively pumping for 16 months. Crosby nursed for 2.5 years but it was painful about 50% of the time. Lola is 6 months old and nursing so well even with a weak latch.  I dealt with tongue ties, painful latching, mastitis, leaks, and many, many tears. Even though I did lots of reading and discussed feeding expectations, I was still surprised at a lot of what I experienced and felt severely underprepared. Even though my journey did not go as expected, I feel proud of all I accomplished and I would not have been able to do that without support.

A lot of my passion for educating and supporting parents with body feeding comes from my own experience. I had an incredible support system. I hope to be able to provide that same type of compassionate, gentle, and patient care for you and your family as well.” - Sarah
